Miles Sterling Music
Hi, I'm Miles and I sing and play the piano. Check out my earlier instrumental music on bandcamp.
Bio
Miles Sterling is a pianist and singer-songwriter originally from
Victoria, BC, Canada.
He studied music and piano at
Toronto’s Humber College with Brian Dickinson, Bernie Senensky,
David Restivo, David Virelles, Gord Sheard, Andy Ballantyne, and
Mark Kelso.
Miles has had the privilege of performing
and/or recording with Damian Graham, Colin Nealis, Ash Richardson,
Brooke Maxwell, Tom Ackerman, Oliver Swain, Adam Dobres, Kelby
MacNayr, Joey Smith, and the late Josh Dixon, to name a few.
He
has performed at such venues as Pagliacci’s, Heron Rock Bistro,
Fairmont Empress Hotel, Government House of BC, Coast Bastion Inn,
Victoria Event Centre, Victoria’s Market Square, and Hermann’s
Jazz Club.
Aside from his gigging efforts, Miles has
been an avid busker, performing mainly as a solo act (but also as
part of duos, trios, and a quartet) starting with a brown upright
piano, which was later painted (by Vilaiwan Fernandes) with a
vibrant magenta sky, a giant orange squid, and the ocean - for
further busking pursuits. After switching to a digital keyboard
for ease of transport and the luxury of being in tune, Miles
adopted the moniker and costume of “Piano Pactolus” (a sonic
renegade of sorts) and continued to busk for several more
seasons.
Now heading to Vancouver for next summer (‘26)
- Miles plans on rejoining the busking community by striking its
streets and transit stations with his passion and ecstatic zeal
for music.
